WikiLeaks have revealed that the Vatican
city is involved in corruption scandals
and that the Vatican bank is failing to implement laws against money laundering. This comes after the WikiLeaks also revealed Irish Vatican sexual abuse scandals of children by the catholic clerics last year. To make matters
worse there has been persistent rumours
about the Pope resigning.
The spokesperson,Lombardi interviewed by
AFP stressed that Pope Benedict XVI was
committed to improving the financial management of the Vatican administration
and ensured that the Vatican was in line with international rules against money
laundering and dismissed the persistent rumours of the Pope wanting to resign.
Whether this is a way of causing confusion
or the problem of power struggles within the Vatican ,it seems the catholic
headquarters has a lot of damage control
to do internally than externally to avoid negative publicity, lets just hope the
Catholic state will be able to bring itself out of this one too!!!
