| Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai |
Last year South African President Jacob
Zuma held all his ministers accountable for their actions by firing Minister
Sicelo Shiceka,Gwen Mhlangu and the Chief of police Bheki Cele after they were found misusing millions of
taxpayers money for their personal activities. This should also be happening in
Zimbabwe ,Ministers involved in
corruption should be held accountable for their actions and also face the wrath
of the law for the development of the country. This is not the first time Zimbabwe
has failed to hold accountable it’s ministers, in 1987 “Top ministers” revealed
by Geoffrey Nyarota involved in the
Watergate scandal were also left
untrialed.
The worst thing is the money being diverted
for personal use by these ministers is taxpayers money which is supposed to be
used for the welfare of the country. As it is now the government is failing to
pay cadetship money for students in varsity yet the money supposed to be used
is being splashed over by Ministers.Last week the government also splashed USD500 000 for the President ‘s
party while the money promised to
develop Bulawayo ‘s industrial sector last year has not yet been released thus affecting
development in the country.
